How Cortena Payables Sync solves the vendor portal problem (AWS, OpenAI, LinkedIn, and 50+ others)

Some suppliers never email a PDF. They hide invoices behind login walls. Cortena Payables Sync is a Chrome extension that pulls those portal invoices into the same payables inbox as everything else, then codes them like any other document.

Every finance team has a short list of suppliers that refuse to behave. AWS drops the invoice in a billing console. OpenAI puts it behind a account page. LinkedIn Ads, cloud hosts, SaaS tools and utilities publish the PDF only after you log in. Nobody emails the document to invoices@yourcompany.com, so capture rules built for the mailbox never see them.

That is the vendor portal problem. It is not rare. For digital-first SMEs it is often dozens of logins a month. Cortena Payables Sync is the Chrome extension built for that gap: set it up once on a portal, and new invoices land in the same Cortena payables inbox as email, drag-and-drop uploads and structured e-invoices.

Why portal invoices break otherwise solid AP automation

Mailbox capture and e-invoice intake solve the happy path. Portals are the unhappy path that still burns half a morning. Someone remembers the password, downloads last month's PDF, renames it, forwards it, and hopes coding starts from there. Miss one AWS invoice and period close waits on a chase through the billing console.

Standalone portal fetchers exist. Many stop at document collection. Cortena's point is different: portal capture is one intake channel into full payables. Once the PDF is in the inbox, the same agents code GL, cost centre and VAT with a reason you can read, route approvals, and hand a booking-ready entry to DATEV, Exact Online or Twinfield.

Set it up once. Cortena fetches the next invoice into the same inbox as everything else.

How Payables Sync works in practice

Install the Cortena Payables Sync extension in Chrome. Open a supported billing portal, for example AWS, OpenAI, LinkedIn or one of 50+ other vendors on the list, and capture the invoice page. Cortena learns where that supplier publishes the document. On the next cycle, the extension pulls the new invoice without a manual download ritual.

Unsupported portals can be reported from the extension so extraction rules can be added. The single purpose stays narrow on purpose: sync invoices into Cortena Payables. Coding, approvals and ledger handoff stay in the main product, not inside the browser.

  • Chrome extension for supplier billing portals that never email a PDF.
  • Works alongside mailbox capture, drag-and-drop and e-invoice formats (UBL, CII, ZUGFeRD, Factur-X).
  • Support for AWS, OpenAI, LinkedIn and 50+ other common vendor portals.
  • Report unsupported portals so Cortena can extend extraction rules.
  • Same downstream path: AI coding with explainable reasons, approvals, booking-ready export.
  • No separate chase list for portal-only suppliers.

Portal fetch is not the finish line

Collecting the PDF is necessary and not sufficient. A portal downloader that drops files into a folder still leaves coding, cost centres, approvals and DATEV or Exact entry to a person. Teams comparing GetMyInvoices or InvoiceFetcher alternatives often already solved collection and still lose hours on booking preparation.

Payables Sync exists so portal invoices are not second-class citizens. An AWS invoice captured from the console should look like any other payable in the queue: fields extracted, duplicates caught, coding reasoned, approval routed. The operator experience stays one inbox.

Where this sits in the Cortena capture story

Cortena connects to wherever invoices actually are: shared mailbox, cloud drives, supplier portals and e-invoicing. Payables Sync is the portal piece. Structured formats are read as data. Plain PDFs are read as documents. Portal captures join the same stream so nothing depends on which supplier decided to invent a login wall.

After setup, typical teams see around 90% of volume coded without human touch, roughly 30 seconds per invoice, and go live in about 15 days. More than 50,000 invoices have already been processed in Cortena. Portal-heavy suppliers stop being the exception that resets the calendar.

Try it on the portals that waste your Mondays

If your close still waits on AWS, OpenAI, LinkedIn Ads or a utility portal, the missing piece is intake, not another coding rule. Book a demo. We will map your portal list against Payables Sync support and show how those invoices join the same payables loop as everything that already arrives by email.

  1. A Chrome extension that syncs invoices from vendor billing portals into Cortena Payables, so portal-only suppliers join the same inbox as email and e-invoice capture.

  2. AWS, OpenAI, LinkedIn and 50+ other common billing portals. Unsupported pages can be reported from the extension so Cortena can add extraction rules.

  3. No. The extension only syncs documents into payables. AI coding with explainable reasons, approvals and booking-ready handoff to DATEV, Exact Online or Twinfield happen in Cortena itself.
