SKR04

SKR04 is a standard German chart of accounts (Standardkontenrahmen) structured to follow the balance sheet and income statement, aligned with the German commercial code.

Where SKR03 orders accounts by process, SKR04 orders them by financial statement structure. Newer companies and many advisors prefer it because the account order mirrors how the annual accounts are read.

For an AP team, the practical difference is the account numbers. A telecom expense that is 4920 in SKR03 sits at a different number in SKR04. The chart your firm chose determines every coding decision downstream.

Cortena ships with SKR04 preloaded and codes invoice lines to it out of the box.

Stop translating invoices into ledger entries by hand

Cortena codes every line to your chart of accounts, cost centre and VAT key, then exports a booking-ready batch to DATEV. See it on your own invoices.
